Future of Pediatrics

This annual CME program provides practical clinical education for community-based primary care pediatricians and practice members. Now in our 25th year, this CME program offers "practical pediatrics for practicing pediatricians." This year's program will highlight how busy primary care pediatricians and pediatric specialists can collaborate on "shared care" for commonly seen conditions in pediatric practice.

Target Audience

This annual Future of Pediatrics CME program is targeted towards community-based primary care pediatric practitioners in the region (DC, Maryland & Virginia).

Learning Objectives

At the conclusion of this CME activity, primary care pediatricians will develop knowledge & strategies to incorporate new or changing guidelines into practice, including:

  • Analyze new or changing "best practice" recommendations & guidelines for office management of common pediatric concerns.
  • Identify opportunities to implement clinical "best practices" into your practice setting.
  • Characterize appropriateness of specialty referrals for common pediatric concerns in value-based care and payment models.
  • Plan clinical referral communication and co-management of selected specialty conditions.
  • Identify opportunities for collaborative "shared care" between primary care and specialist practitioners.
